Environmental Policy Statement

Gemini Dispersions Ltd, recognises and accepts that concern for the environment is an integral and fundamental part of the company’s corporate business strategy and is determined to operate its business in an environmentally friendly manner.

The Managing Director is responsible for establishing the policy to achieve the above goal, with all departmental managers having responsibility for policy implementation in their respective areas of control and expertise.

We will seek to reduce our impact on the environment, to the lowest practicable minimum, by the acknowledgement of our Duty of Care and by applying the concept of Best Practicable Environmental Option (BPEO).

  • Our Environmental Management System (EMS) fully meets the requirements of ISO 14001:2004. It is designed to ensure continuous improvement in environmental performance.

  • Environmental objectives and targets are set and appraised at management review.

  • Comply with all applicable legal requirements and improve on these where technically and economically practicable.

  • Interact and actively engage with our employees and others working on behalf of the company, to resolve issues and improve performance and ensure that all are familiar with the content of this policy.

  • Commit to continual improvement and prevention of pollution.

  • Provide suitable information and training for our employees and others working on behalf of the company, to enable them to work safely and with due regard for themselves and others and to protect the environment.

  • Make this policy statement and relevant environmental information available to all interested parties (stakeholders) and members of the public on request.

Health & Safety Policy Statement

Gemini Dispersions Ltd is committed to operating in a manner that recognises that protecting our workforce, customers, visitors, contractors and others who are affected by our operations has no greater business priority.

We will also operate in a responsible manner with respect to the environment, as set out in our separate Environmental Policy Statement.

We will constantly strive to improve our health & safety performance, using applicable legislative requirements as our minimum standard, improving on them wherever technically and economically practicable. We are fully committed to the chemical industry’s Responsible Care programme.

The Managing Director is responsible for maintaining a Health and Safety register and ensuring that Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policies are fully implemented throughout the company, assisted by the management safety committee and a safety adviser.

This policy will be regularly monitored to ensure that the objectives are achieved. It will be reviewed and if necessary, revised in the light of legislative or organisational changes.

In recognition of our Duty of Care we intend to:

  • Maintain management systems that ensure continuous improvement in SHE performance.

  • Carry out regular COSHH assessments on all materials on site.

  • Ensure all managers and other employees recognise their responsibility for SHE, are suitably trained, and are issued with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.

  • Provide customers, employees and other stakeholders with all relevant information required to safely utilise our facilities, raw materials and products.

  • Encourage key suppliers to adopt good SHE practices wherever possible

  • Carry out regular Work Place and Work Activity Risk assessments

  • Involve employees in resolving issues and improving performance through regular Safety Committee meetings and active SHE cells throughout the company.

  • Maintain a Planned Improvement Programme, with targets and objectives.

Quality Control Policy Statement

Gemini Dispersions has a firm commitment to achieve, maintain and continually strive to improve its quality management system. This will be achieved through internal audit and the annual management review to maintain its high quality standards and levels of customer service.

A quality manual has been implemented, which meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 : 2008.

The company has defined quality objectives which are determined and appraised during management review.

The quality policy is communicated throughout the company and is considered for continued suitability. The company is committed to continual improvement of the quality system during management review.

These procedures will ensure that high quality standards are maintained for all our products.

The company's audit programme is performed by competent and designated personnel to ensure that changes may be introduced as necessary to :

  • Avoid quality problems occurring

  • Prevent problems recurring

  • Evaluate new materials

  • Evaluate new suppliers

  • Evaluate manufacturing techniques

  • Enable any corrective actions, identified as necessary by the investigation and analysis of reported complaints to be implemented

REACH Policy

REACH Statement

The European Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemical substances (REACH) came into force on the 1st June 2007.

This legislation is designed to protect both human health and the environment and to improve the understanding of handling chemical products. It is also designed to maintain, improve and protect the manufacturing base within the European Union.

Gemini Dispersions are fully aware of its obligations under REACH and are conforming to all requirements. We will continue to work closely with our suppliers and customers to ensure our full compliance in the future.
